It’s worth noting that the Blink XT2 and XT cameras initiate a collective storage period of 7200 seconds upon setup.

1.  Poor Internet Connection:

One of the most common reasons for Blink camera flashing red is a poor internet connection. The first thing you should do is check the strength of your internet connection.

If it is weak or not stable, then that can be the reason for your camera’s problem. Restart your router or modem to see if that fixes the issue.

Also, make sure that the camera is not too far away from the router and that there are no other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network that is slowing down the speed.

2.  Low Battery:

Another reason why your Blink camera keeps flashing red is that it may have a low battery. Blink cameras run on batteries, and if they are running low, then the light will flash red.

Check the battery level of your camera by going to the camera settings in the app. If the battery is low, then change it as soon as possible.

It is best to use the original Blink batteries as using other batteries can cause problems.

3.  Connectivity Issues:

Sometimes connectivity issues can cause your Blink camera to flash red. This can happen if the camera is not properly connected to the sync module or if the sync module is not connected to the internet.

To fix this issue, check that the sync module light is solid blue. If it is not, then restart the module and try to connect your camera again. If the problem still persists, then try to reset the module or the camera.

4. Overheating:

Blink cameras can overheat if they are exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures. Overheating can cause the camera to show a red light. Move the camera to a cooler spot and see if the red light disappears.

5. Faulty Camera:

If none of the above reasons are the cause, then it could be a faulty camera. Try to restart the camera or sync module, and if the problem still persists, then contact Blink support.

Having a Blink camera that keeps flashing red can be frustrating, but it doesn’t mean that your security system is not working. Usually, a simple fix like checking your internet connection or changing the battery can solve the problem. However, if none of these solutions work, then don’t hesitate to contact Blink support. Your Blink camera is an excellent investment in your home’s security, and it’s best to make sure it’s working correctly.
